Creative Dance Comp
Sunday 7th December 2025
2.30pm-4.30pm
Open to ages 5-18, split into three age divisions: 5-9 years, 10-15 years and 16-18 years. Dances can be in solos, duets or groups. Dancers can enter in more than one category, but will need to pay per entry.
Entry fees start from £8 general entry and £6 for current VyMy Dance students.
Dance pieces must be a minimum of 30 seconds and a maximum of 1 minutes 30 seconds, and they must be entirely the work of the entrants.
Planned pieces only- anything which is improvised on the day will not be placed.
Dances which repeat routines from other choreographers (e.g. from TikTok) will be disqualified.
Winners will have their dance included in VyMy's next theatre show (July 2026) and will receive choreographic support in refining their dance from director Nisha Vyas-Myall.
Spectators can come for free (limit to one per dancer). Entrants under the age of 10 must have a parent/carer with them.
Meet Your Judge
Nisha Vyas-Myall, Director of VyMy Dance
Nisha is trained in street dance, hip hop, ballet, musical theatre, contemporary and lyrical dance and has been teaching for over 15 years.
Their choreographic experience spans from local productions to the Royal Albert Hall, having created pieces for soloists, troupes and multi-part productions.
They have also trained dancers for the competition circuit, with them placing in the top four of their divisions.
Nisha's looking for the following in these competition pieces: good use of space, attention to detail, musicality, clear structure and expression behind the movement.
